Fence Designer - Draw Your Fence

Quick Guide

Basic Tools

Draw (D): Click to draw fence lines. Fence snaps to 45-degree angles. Press Escape or right-click to finish.

Select (V): Select items to move, rotate, or resize them. Drag to reposition.

Delete (X): Click on any item to remove it (fences, gates, posts, symbols, obstacles, etc.).

Pan (P): Click and drag to move around the canvas. Double-click to recenter view.

Zoom (Z): Click to zoom in. Hold Ctrl/Option and click to zoom out. Double-click to reset.

Annotation Tools

Text Notes (T): Click to place text notes on the canvas. Click existing note to edit it.

Camera (C): Click to place camera markers. Attach multiple photos to each marker. Badge shows photo count.

Measure (M): Click two points to measure distance between them.

Site Features

Obstacle (O): Click and drag to draw rectangular obstacles (buildings, pools, sheds, A/C units, etc.).

Hardscape (S): Click to draw dotted lines for sidewalks and driveways. Press Escape to finish.

House Edit (H): Edit house shape - drag corners to move, click midpoints to add corners.

Existing Fence

Keep (E): Draw existing fence that will stay (black line with X pattern).

Remove (R): Draw existing fence to be torn down (red line with X pattern).

Gates

Adding Gates: Click a gate size in the sidebar, then click on a fence line to place it.

Gate Orientation: Right-click before placing to cycle through 4 orientations (hinge side and swing direction).

Flip Placed Gate: Right-click on an existing gate to flip its swing direction.

Double Gates: Place two gates with latch posts touching to create a double gate.

Symbols

Adding Symbols: Click a symbol in the sidebar, then click on canvas to place. Press Escape to exit.

Symbol Rotation: Right-click before placing to rotate 90 degrees. Use Select (V) to rotate after placing.

Compass Rose: Automatically placed at bottom-left. Rotate to indicate property orientation.

Saving & Printing

Auto-Save: Your design is automatically saved to your browser. Refresh to continue working.

Start Over: Click "Start Over" in the right sidebar to clear everything and start fresh.

Print Design: Click "Print" in left sidebar to print the fence layout in landscape mode.

Print Materials: Click "Print Materials" in right sidebar to print the materials list.

Post Types

CP: Corner Post (where fence changes direction)

EP: End Post (where fence terminates)

LP: Line Post (along straight fence runs)

HP: Hinge Post (gate support)

LaP: Latch Post (gate latch side)
